Become a Writer Associate
Joining as a Writer Associate means you can:
- access our workshops and seminars
- access exclusive platforming opportunities
- get a login for the backstage area of our website, packed with invaluable resources and recordings on the craft and business of musical theatre, featuring some of the top names in the industry, like Stephen Sondheim and Nick Hytner.
- get a discount rates on our advice and reading services
- advertise your productions in our monthly What’s On, going to many industry contacts, plus on our website
- get a listing on the MMD site
- feature your YouTube clips, hosted MP3s and album releases on our media blog
- access exclusive notifications of opportunities for developing and/or submitting your work for platforming.
- send collaboration requests to our collaboration mailing list
- take up many chances through the year to meet with other writers, well-known writers and directors and producers at special events in London.
If you are on Facebook you can also join our exclusive Facebook groups to help with your networking. Should you at some point have a professional production of a musical theatre piece that you have written we can then upgrade you to Professional Writer Associate which also will make you eligible to apply for commissioning opportunities.
The subs are £70 (or £40 student rate) and run from 1 February each year. We pro-rata quarterly, so a subscription bought now will last until 31 January 2011.

Please note: as we devote most of our staff resource to running projects for writers, it can take up to two weeks before we are able to confirm receipt of paypal payments and send your log in details. Please bear with us.
Paypal transactions incur a handling charge of £2.50. If you prefer to pay by BACS, then please contact membership@mercurymusicals.com with the information from the above form. Processing of BACS payments can add some extra days to a membership application.

If you are a professionally-trained director, producer, MD or other backstage professional, then we would love you to become one of MMD's production associates.
If you're already a member of our sister organisation MTM:UK then you can sign up without giving any details of your experience.
Joining as an MMD Production Associate is free, and means you can:
- access workshops and seminars for a per-event charge
- send collaboration requests to our collaboration mailing list
- take up many chances through the year to meet with writers, well-known writers and directors and producers at special events in London, for a cheap per-event charge
- receive our monthly mailing that keeps you up to date with productions of new musicals by MMD writers
